I. The Candidate Care and Examination Committee [CCEC] shall administer the Ontario Classis Student Fund, with the Classis Treasurer disbursing the funds.

II. The Ontario Classis Student Fund is established to provide financial assistance to students of the Classis enrolled with the approval of the CCEC in a Reformed Church seminary or another divinity school approved by the Ministry Formation Certification Agency [MFCA]. Under certain circumstances assistance may also e granted to undergraduate students enrolled in schools with a Reformed Confession preparing for full-time or part-time non-ordained ministry in the Reformed Church in America.

III. To receive assistance from the Fund, students must be communicant members in good and regular standing of one of the churches of Classis Ontario.

IV. Application for assistance for each school year must be made to the Chairperson of the CCEC no later than May 1st preceding the school year for which funding is requested. The application shall include a letter outlining the students educational plans, the envisioned contribution to the RCA church life in Canada, and the reasons for his/her choice of educational institution. Also required is a financial budget, a list of personal assets, and the expected spouse or parental income. The application shall be accompanied by a certification of admittance or registration from the educational institution, the school's standard certification of financial need, and a recommendation from an officer of the school.

V a). A complete application package should be obtained each year from the pastor of the student's home congregation or from a member of the CCEC. V b) This package will also include a separate Application for assistance with tuition and associated travel expenses incurred in taking the Summer Intensive Courses required by the Classis of Ontario. [RCA Worship, RCA Church History and Missions, RCA Church Polity, RCA Standards of Unity]. This request form may be handed in with expense receipts for reimbursement after the student has taken one or more of these courses. Further aid forms may be submitted for each subsequent summer intensive course taken.

VI. Financial grants and loans shall be made at the discretion of the SCEC.

VII. Grants are awarded on the condition that a student sign a promise to serve the Reformed Church In America in a full or part-time ministry for a minimum period of five (5) years following his or her studies. If the student fails to meet this obligation, the grants received become a loan repayable at the rate of one fifth of the total grant for each year short of the five year commitment. The Committee may waive part of all of the repayment under extenuating circumstances.
